Returns
We want every customer to be thrilled with their purchase. But if you’re not, you can return your item for a refund within 30 days of delivery by following these steps:
Cloth Bound Sets
- Email us at returns@brookfieldbooks.com. Let us know 1) your name (or order number) and 2) your reason for returning the item. We will respond with a return label from the US Postal Service.
- Pack the item just as you received it. If you still have it, use the original box and packing material, but if not, please do your best to protect the item for shipping. A tip for secure shipping is to place the books in the center of the box, away from the corners, and fill the space around and above with crumpled paper. If an item is returned in damaged or unsaleable condition, it will not be eligible for a full refund.
- Tape the return label to the outside of the box (fully covering the label) and drop it at your local Post Office. When we receive the item back in saleable condition, we will issue a full refund (minus return shipping costs) back to the original payment method. Initial shipping costs are not refunded. Refunds will be initiated within 24 hours of receipt, but may take 5-10 days to be credited back to your account.
Leather Bound Sets
Because of their inherent rarity and fragility, we’ve had to add an extra step and an extra charge to returns for our leather bound sets.
- Keep the original packaging (this is the extra step). We take a lot of care to pack our antique leather bound sets so that they don’t get damaged in shipping. Part of that is using the right materials (i.e. appropriately sized boxes, bubble wrap, thick kraft paper, etc.). In order for you to be able to return your item in the same condition it was received, you’ll have to use the original packaging. This is not necessary for most other online purchases, so we’ve included a reminder in every box.
